Turn Knowledge into Wisdom
“Knowledge becomes wisdom only after it has been put to practical use.”
When I was in the United States Navy, we had a fantastic way in which we learned everything. We would first learn a lesson by hearing it. Next we would do it, and then we would teach that information or skill to someone else. Until we reached the point we were able to teach someone else what we know, we really don’t know the subject matter.
What I Do to Turn Knowledge into Wisdom
I have gained a lot of skills over my lifetime, but I have failed to use many of the skills and knowledge that I have learned during those years. I have been unable to put many of those skills and my knowledge into practical use Therefore, the wisdom in that learning never came to fruition.
However, in many ways I have turned my knowledge into wisdom.
One way I turn my knowledge into wisdom is that I practice many of the skills that I have learned to do. I make a small living by using my baking and gardening skills and sell some of the items to customers at the farmers market during the summer months.
I share what I produce with my adult son and his growing family. They love eating the cookies that I have left over from the farmers market. Mind you…
