Though I am an American, I am half Swedish and I have always loved small houses. My family has always been a fan of repairing before fixing, reusing when possible. You didn't mention it, but there's also a frugality in food preparation too. Family is important to my relatives and we get together and share family stories a lot. Bike riding is something I would love to do, but in my area, it isn't practical and would be dangerous.
