As a self-publisher, or as I like to say a publisher who writes, I have found that it is necessary to find ways for others to help me get the word out about the books I wrote and have available for sale. The idea put out by the movie Field of Dreams, “build it and they will come” doesn’t work. If you want to get sales, you need followers to get sales. You get followers by networking.

Networking

Networking is the action or process of interacting with others to exchange information and develop professional or social contacts.

These involve the skills of getting to know people with whom you want to do business, the bargaining process, and negotiation for the sale of products or services.

Networking involves getting to know people so that you can know and trust them, and they can know and trust you. The more trust exchanged between you and them, the more likely the networking can develop into doing business together.

These people are called followers. These followers can come from various areas of your life.
