The first step to getting personal when writing
A lot has changed over the past couple of years. There’s been a lot of talk about how AI will replace writers online and off. I don’t see that as possible. I don’t worry about AI replacing me because I have one thing that AI can never have. I have personal experience. That’s where my journal becomes a fantastic writing tool.
Use AI for Data Collection Not Creativity
AI can’t connect your experiences with the information that you learn. Only you can do that in your mind because you have the experience and the information and can get them to interact. AI doesn’t have experience and that is where you have the advantage.
If you use AI, treat it as your servant, not your mentor or boss. Use it to find facts and get organized, but make your own experiences the center of your writing experience. This will keep whatever you write more genuine.
Tell stories. Share your experiences. If someone wants to know what is already on the internet, they would be using AI to find the information themselves. What they want to know is how a real-life person did it. They want to know that they can do it too! They want to connect with a person.
