The Chicken Whisperer

Here my chickens are posing for the picture.

Whether you have a thousand acres or just a postage stamp backyard, if your local zoning allows it, I believe you should consider having chickens in your backyard! They are a lot of fun.

My chicks are grown for eggs and meat, but they are also grown just for the entertainment. I grew up around chickens and I have always loved having them around. As an adult, I have had chickens off and on as well. Whether you want to call me the Chicken Pied Piper or the Chicken Whisperer, Whenever, they see me coming, they come running to me.

They Learned to Love Me (or at least the food and water I bring)

The chicks when they are hatched don’t start out that way. I currently have a batch of 31 chicks in the brooder right now, who, when I bring them food or water run away from me. The last batch did that with me for about six weeks, but then one day they stop running from me and start running to me.

The same thing continued when I sold a few chickens to a friend of mine. She told me that whenever she came out, the chickens would go to her too.
