During the past several weeks we have discussed why you should and should not write a nonfiction book, what type of nonfiction book you could write, and understanding some of the current trends in book creation.

If you’re ready to start writing your nonfiction book, don’t wait until the New Year to begin writing. Yes, we’re in a busy time of year, but if you take a few minutes every day this month to work on your nonfiction book, you’ll get a lot of work done that you wouldn’t have otherwise finished if you waited until you claim you have more time when January rolls around.

Develop Your Unique Value Proposition

Before you dive into your book, the structure, the chapters, and all, decide what you want from this book. I am not talking about the idea that you want to make a million dollars from this book. I’m talking about what value you want to give to the reader of your book. What do you want them to take away from it? How will your book be different than other similar books? What is your personal contribution to the subject?
