I use Duolingo to study Spanish and Swedish. I was trying to do French and Russian as well, but it was way too confusing. Also, Duolingo has improved in that you can jump ahead if you have some knowledge already.

My son learned Chinese as someone who taught English to Chinese students for five months then when on to be a Chinese linguist in the US Air Force.
