Rather than making resolutions this year, I have decided to focus on developing principles to live by and on my annual goals. I will discuss my goals in another article. In this article, I am looking at the principles that I want to solidify in my life this year.

I determine to review and apply each of these principles every day.

Changing my Paradigm

I have mentioned it before, but it bears repeating that this past October I came across a saying that has changed a major paradigm in my life and it the idea of removing “failure” and “fail”, and ” loser” from my vocabulary. My new mantra is, “I never fail, I either win or I learn.”

At the same time, I am determined to Be humble, because in humility is the willingness to grow as a human being.

This is probably the most important principle that I must apply. It takes energy away from thinking that things that occur are negatives. Instead of having something happen to me, it happens for me. This is where gratitude comes in. I am grateful for every “yes”, of course, but also every “no” as well because it moves me closer to a yes especially if I analyze what I have learned in the experience.
