Achieving My Personal Goals
Focusing on better time management
Everyone has the same number of hours in a day, so why is it that so many people say they don’t have time while others get so much more accomplished when they have the same number of hours in the day as the person who says they don’t have time? Perhaps it’s because they simply don’t know where they’re going and don’t know the mode of transportation that will get them there.
Knowing My Destination
Time management begins with knowing what I want to accomplish in life. Before I knew my vision, my time became cluttered, just like my physical space had become cluttered. There was a lot of stuff in my head, but after a while what I was doing got in the way of what I wanted to be doing. That’s when I realized how important life goals were.
Once I had these life goals, I chunked them down into three-year goals, which I chunked down into monthly goals. Those goals were then chunked down into weekly goals. The goals were chunked down into daily activities. Once I knew what I needed to do to get where I wanted to go, I could take the things that I needed to do to accomplish those goals. By doing a little every day, I know I’ll eventually reach my ultimate goals.
